What is Tu B’shvat?
Tu B’Shvat takes place on the 15th day of the Hebrew month of Sh’vat. This year, the date falls on February 10 on the Gregorian calendar. Traditionally, the holiday marks the start of the agricultural season where trees and fruits began blooming in ancient Israel. Modernly, Tu B’shvat has become a symbol of our relationship to the environment, and reminds us of our connection to the earth and nature. For many, it is customary to plant trees and consume new fruits on Tu B’shvat.
