Evoking the Hebrew phrase l’dor v’dor, or “from generation to generation,”  L’Dough V’Dough is a collaboration with Holocaust Museum L.A. (formerly LAMOTH), connecting young adult community members and survivors and passing on amazing stories of freedom from one generation to the next.

This year, our Los Angeles survivor community has pivoted to virtual storytelling, and we invite you to make your own challah on the day of, keeping the tradition of L’Dough V’Dough alive even while apart. You can follow along with this video, which includes instructions on preparing dough and the meaning and symbolism behind each ingredient. Written instructions are available here.

This experience is part of Collective Escape 2021, NuRoots’ sixth annual festival exploring and reimagining Passover—the ultimate d.i.y. holiday.
