- This event has passed.
UPDATE: At NuRoots, the young adult engagement Initiative of the Jewish Federation, and 30 years After, we are committed to our community’s physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Although current COVID-19 levels are low in Southern California, we are and will be taking every necessary precaution to keep our community safe and regret to inform you that we have decided to postpone Shushan Monologues: A Masquerade Storytelling Experience for a future date.
We apologize for any inconvenience and hope everyone stays safe.
Warmly,
The NuRoots Team and 30 Years After
Join us for a storytelling salon following Purim, where we’ll explore themes of courage, self-expression, and authenticity. We celebrate this holiday to remember a time in Shushan, Persia (now modern-day Hamedan, Iran) when Queen Esther saved the Jewish people by revealing her identity after the King’s advisor Haman issued a decree to kill all of the Jews. Our storytellers, all young adults living in L.A., will share personal experiences related to removing their figurative masks. Gather with us as we connect with each other over inspiring stories and delicious appetizers.
What does your ticket include:
• A delicious kosher meat meal
• Open wine and beer bar
• Inspiring stories from 5 young adults in the community
Wednesday, March 18, 7:15 – 10:00 PM
Fairfax
This program is open for all young adults in their 20s and 30s and is powered by NuRoots and the Nazarian Initiative in partnership with 30 Years After.
