Stay Involved

After ten days of discovering Israel, creating a community with your fellow Birthrighters, and exploring your Jewish identity, you’re back in Los Angeles. Now what?

Whether you’re looking for social events, networking, or for a way to get back to Israel — we’re here to help. Feeling inspired and want to create your own events? That’s awesome, too! From Shabbat dinners and group outings, to trips back to Israel and chances to volunteer, you may be back home, but your journey doesn’t need to end now.

Kahn Fellowship

Once you return home from Birthright Israel LA Way, you can apply for a yearlong Kahn Fellowship, providing you with the training and resources you need to create your own unique Jewish opportunities in LA, participate in immersive Jewish experiences, and attend local Jewish community events. As a Kahn Fellow, you would work to enrich the community by creating programs that connect people from your Birthright trip as well as the wider Birthright population in LA.

Post Undergrads

Post Undergrads offers opportunities specifically for post undergraduates between the ages of 22 and 26 to connect to each other, to the Jewish community, and to all that LA has to offer. Take a group Krav Maga class, join us for an evening learning about exotic spices, or join us for our annual happy hour. We’re here to help you stay connected. Join our Facebook group or contact Connect@JewishLA.org to hear about upcoming events!

NuRoots

NuRoots was built to thrive on real conversations and experiences, and we want to meet you – wherever you are! From the Venice Boardwalk to Sunset Junction, the 818 to DTLA, and collectives devoted to young couples and intergenerational spaces, Join us for a NuRoots community experience or meet with a NuRoots Fellow! We’re excited to get to know you and help you create new ways to experience Jewish life in LA.

Newcomers

If you’re new to LA or just new to NuRoots or the Federation, you’re invited! We host several newcomers brunches every year to welcome new people. Come by to hear more about what’s coming up on the events calendar, and meet some new people while you’re at it. If brunch traffic is too much (we get it) we’d love to come meet you for coffee and introduce ourselves, hear about what you’re up to, and tell you more about ways to get involved.
