National Young Leadership Cabinet (NYLC)

About NYLC

A global five-year journey with inspiring annual retreats, conferences, and unparalleled access to an extraordinary group of spiritual and philanthropic leaders, the National Young Leadership Cabinet (NYLC) is the Jewish Federation of North America’s most comprehensive and prestigious leadership-development program.

The National Young Leadership Cabinet (NYLC) is the premier leadership and philanthropic program within the Jewish Federations of North America and throughout the Jewish world. Its nearly 300 members in the US and Canada are deeply committed to shaping a bright future for Jewish people around the world.

Over the course of the five-year program, participants from all different backgrounds and cities come together at leadership retreats and conferences. They meet spiritual and philanthropic leaders, find inspiration, and make meaningful connections that help them on their journey to becoming stronger, more effective leaders.

The Los Angeles group of NYLC members is comprised of ambitious, visionary, philanthropically-minded young adults, the current and future leaders of the LA Jewish community.

Applicants to NYLC must:

  • Between the ages of 30 and 40 during the calendar year for which they apply.
  • Receive a nomination from a local Jewish Federation professional, after which s/he can complete an application.
  • Make a minimum gift of $5,000 to our Federation’s Annual Campaign each year of the program, with meaningful increases each year.
  • Attend a NYLC’s annual retreat, this year taking place July 23-28, 2019, location still TBD.

In addition to the above requirements, ideal applicants humbly recognize the importance of serving as an ambassador of their local Federation, the Jewish Federations of North America, and the global Jewish community.
