Alexi Biener

Campaign Associate
Alexi is charged with increasing young adult philanthropic support to the Federation. She finds great meaning in hearing what inspires young adults to give back, but you can always find her dancing and singing along to the Pitch Perfect soundtracks.

Ally Turkheimer

Program Director, Birthright Israel Experience
Originally from Maryland, Ally is new to LA but a veteran of Jewish community. She is excited to recruit across the Greater Los Angeles community for Birthright Israel, which is her passion. Ally enjoys trying new restaurants, taking spin classes, and exploring the city.

Ari Naamani-Goldman

Assistant Director, Young Adults of Los Angeles (YALA)
Ari moved to LA from New York, where he served as president of the Alzheimer’s Association’s young professionals committee and launched its outreach program. He also worked as a sound designer, and produced soundtracks for Lincoln Center, the United Nations, and the Louvre.

Ariela Wallace

Young Adult Event & Program Coordinator
Ariela is happy to be back in LA engaging the Jewish young professionals in a diverse offering of events and programs. Ariela spent several years in New York before moving to Mumbai, India to work with the Indian Jewish community. Outside of work she loves to read, hike, and travel when possible.

 

Brianna Ziegler

Assistant Director, NuRoots Community Fellowship
Bri builds community by bringing people of all ages together to enjoy Jewish food, humor, arts, and culture in a fresh, modern way. You may also know her for her triple-jointed-ness or starring role in a Coca-Cola commercial.

David Guccione

Assistant Director, NuRoots Community Fellowship
An avid cyclist and yogi, David has worked in sports sponsorships for various automotive manufacturers, planning events all over the world. David brings his expertise in bringing people together along with his deep passion and commitment to fostering community in West Hollywood.

Deirdre Dooley

Program Assistant, Community Leadership Institute (CLI)
Deirdre assists in all things CLI, such as the opening retreat, monthly sessions, Israel trip and graduation. In her free time, she can be found lounging on a chaise reading a book or solving a crossword puzzle.

Donna Maher

Assistant Director, Y&S Nazarian Family Foundation Iranian Community Outreach
Donna is a first-generation Iranian American who is passionate about leadership, unifying the Jewish community, and making impact. Her professional background is in marketing strategy and in her free time she enjoys dancing, outdoor activities, and eating mac n cheese.

 

Elina Tilipman

Assistant Director, NuRoots Community Fellowship
Passionate about connecting people and building communities, Elina loves curating unique experiences that inspire people and help foster new relationships. In her spare time, she explores the thriving LA food scene, bakes tasty challah with Challah Hub and is obsessed with neon signs!

Erika Brooks Adickman

Assistant Director, NuRoots Community Fellowship
After years building community online by working in digital marketing, Erika is excited to help build meaningful community and connections offline. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing with the Oopsie Daisies dance troupe, co-hosting the 2 Jews Talking podcast, indoor bouldering, outdoor hiking, underwater swimming — and drinking seltzer by the caseload.

Gamal Palmer

Vice President, Leadership Development
Gamal is dedicated to empowering young adults to tap into their passions and helping them leverage their skills to address issues important to them. He is an avid cyclist and loves extreme sports.

Jason Leivenberg

Vice President, NuRoots
Hailing from “the Valley,” Jason believes that everything connects to everything else, which is why bringing people together doing good in the world gets him up in the morning. He is a baseball fanatic, caffeine enthusiast, and burger fiend.

 

Jennifer Green

Assistant Director, NuRoots Community Fellowship
Jenn loves working to build an inclusive and meaningful community for young, diverse couples in LA with NuRoots and Honeymoon Israel. In her free time, she and her best friend explore the city for their adventure blog, My Best LA Day.

Jonathan Grunin

Assistant Director, Israel Advocacy
Jonathan works with Jewish student leaders to build coalitions on campus to achieve their goals. He enjoys being on campuses working directly with college students and consulting with them as Israel advocates, student government candidates, and/or agents of change in their communities.

Kim Habi

Executive Assistant, NuRoots
A Philadelphia native, Kim is the go-to person for tips on office organization, event arrangement, daily business practices, and support to other departments as needed. Kim is always ready to share pictures of her granddaughter.

Linda Sans

Program Assistant, Young Adult Engagement
Linda brings with her an exciting international background. When not busy supporting the Young Adult Engagement team, she enjoys exploring LA’s art scene, gourmet cooking and learning from various cultures. An accomplished trilingual voice over artist, she is currently studying Mandarin Chinese.

 

Maia Ferdman

Program Coordinator, Global Jewish Experiences
In the fourth leg of the Federation’s Fishel Fellowship, Maia brings her global experiences living in India, Bulgaria, and Israel to Los Angeles through programming for young adults. Maia is a proud UCLA grad, avid reader/writer, and intricate doodler.

Margalit C. Rosenthal

Vice President, Young Adult Engagement
Having lived in DC, NY, and now LA, Margalit is the connection you need! Margalit can point you in the right direction for Jewish opportunities of all kinds, both in LA and beyond. She loves to cook and collect semi-useful trivia facts.

Mariah Shevchuk

Program Assistant, Birthright Israel & Immersive Experiences
Mariah hails from Arizona originally, coming to LA via San Francisco. She loves Mexican food, living in a city as diverse as Los Angeles, and is very excited to bring her museum education background to the Federation.

Marisa Kaplan

Director, NuRoots Partnerships
Marisa works with Los Angeles Jewish communal professionals and organizations to dream up new methods of collaboration and bring innovative programming to our community. In the evenings and on weekends, she spends her time exploring the city’s vibrant food and wine scene.

 

Mary Kohav

Vice President, Community Engagement Programs
Mary oversees our community engagement programs, as well as the Rautenberg New Leaders Project (NLP)—a premier civic leadership program of which she is a proud graduate. When she’s not chilling with her two kids and puppy, Mary’s the person you want to drag with you to karaoke after she’s cooked you an amazing dinner.

Orly Frank

Program Director, Strategic Initiatives
Orly spends her time building relationships with her Brawerman Fellows who attend colleges all over the US. She loves guiding and being a part of their Jewish journey. She is married, has two boys, loves traveling and visiting spas.

Roxanna Donay

Assistant Director, Jewish Campus Life
Roxy works with organizations on college campuses to ensure meaningful programs are happening for Jewish college students throughout Greater Los Angeles. Roxy caught the travel bug as a teenager, and in the last 10+ years she has traveled to 15 states and eight different countries – and she has the photos to prove it!

Sarah Austin

Director, Birthright Israel & Immersive Experiences
Sarah loves helping people get to Israel. This makes her perfect for her role as she oversees the Federation’s LA Way trips, Onward Israel, and more. A SoCal native who spent many years traveling the globe she is happy to be back in L.A.

 

Sasha Zlobina

Assistant Director, Russian Jewish Community
Sasha designs dynamic events for Russian-speaking Jewish young professionals and families with young children, supports Russian-speaking Jewish CEI interns on campuses, and works with the Community Leadership Institute. Originally from Odessa, Ukraine, Sasha can be seen at LA’s best restaurants.

Zack Lodmer

Director, NuRoots Community Fellowship
Zack is a musician, yogi (founder and leader of Om Shalom Yoga), and father to two spunky children. He loves tacos but also drinks his green juice, building community, and guiding those on their Jewish journeys.

Aaron Kogan

Co-Chair, Young Adult Engagement & Leadership Development
Aaron has been actively involved with the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles since 2006. He served as Young Leadership Co-Chair of the Entertainment Division of the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles from 2008-2009, and has been Co-Chair of the Young Adult Engagement & Leadership Development Committee since 2014. He also previously co-founded and co-Chaired The Network and served as a member of the Community Leadership Institute (CLI) Advisory Committee. Aaron works with creative talents and storytellers of all types through his management and production company, Aaron Kogan Management. Aaron is a Los Angeles native and is married to his high school sweetheart, Amanda Kogan, with whom he has two daughters.

Arielle Morrison

Co-Chair, Young Adult Engagement & Leadership Development
Arielle works at the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network as the Associate Director of Annual and Mid-Level Giving. Arielle has held a number of roles in the Federation, including: Young Adults of Los Angeles (YALA) Board Chair, Birthright Israel trip leader, BRIdge Fellow, and Community of Professional Women’s Co-Chair. In 2016, she was the recipient of the Young Women’s Leadership Award. Arielle became involved with the Los Angeles Federation in 2010 upon moving to LA and seeking to connect with other young Jews.

Marlyse Scherr

Co-Chair, Young Adults of Los Angeles (YALA)
Marlyse greatly values the sense of community the Federation provides. She is passionate about creating spaces where Jews can engage in fun environments and foster new friendships. Birthright Israel introduced Marlyse to some of her closest friends and to the love of her life. Following this experience, she became a Kahn fellow, and, along with her board position, she is an REC cabinet member. Marlyse’s passion for developing relationships within the Jewish community makes her proud to be involved in such a fun and spirited organization.

Stephen Rischall

Co-Chair, Young Adults of Los Angeles (YALA)
Stephen is an award-winning financial adviser and public speaker. He is an active leader in the Los Angeles Jewish community, where he advocates for the economic and social advancement of other young professionals. In his free time, Stephen enjoys skiing, mountain biking, gardening, and golf.

 

Josh Feffer

Co-Chair, Community Leadership Institute (CLI)
Josh is a native of Los Angeles and a geologist. He owns a soil engineering company that provides geotechnical services for development. Josh has been volunteering with the Federation since 2003 and was part of a now-retired leadership training program in 2005. He serves on the board of the Federation, has co-chaired the Community Leadership Institute (CLI) since its inception, and before that was involved with Young Adults of Los Angeles (YALA) and various other young adult programs.

Debi Graboff

Co-Chair, Community Leadership Institute (CLI)
Debi is Co-Chair of the Sylvia Weisz Women’s Philanthropy and of the Community Leadership Institute. She serves on the Board of The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles and Stephen Wise Temple. Debi and her husband Marc were awarded the Spirit of Humanity Award in 2007 by Jewish Family Services. Debi is a family law attorney and mediator. She and Marc have three adult children.
