About Onward Israel
You’re sitting in a funky Tel Aviv cafe with an iced coffee in your hand and a smile on your face. It’s been a crazy day at the office. You’re two weeks into an eight-week internship, and you’ve made new friends, learned new skills, and your conversational Hebrew isn’t too shabby! This could be you: Onward Israel Los Angeles is your chance to travel to Israel with a group of new friends from LA and gain valuable professional experience while exploring contemporary Israel. - Dates that work for you and your schedule
- $600 program fee, payable online upon acceptance (includes housing, partial board, transit to/from work, and program)
- $300 participation & security deposit, payable in cash upon arrival in Israel (additional to the program fee and refundable upon successful completion of the program)
- Participants arrange and pay for their own flights
- Intern 4-5 days each week
- One Shabbaton Experience
- One Weekenders Experience
Participants will live in Tel Aviv University dorms in the Ramat Aviv neighborhood, in the same complex as other Onward Israel participants and Israeli students. Ramat Aviv is only a 20 minute bus ride (without traffic) from the center of Tel Aviv!
Note, there is a chance that health/safety conditions will require us to implement a 2 week quarantine upon arrival in Israel. There is also a chance that the program will shift to entirely remote if travel is restricted past a 2 week quarantine upon arrival. For more information, visit our FAQ responding to COVID-19
This program is intended for students and young professionals living year-round in the Greater Los Angeles area between the ages of 19-27 (or at least one full year post-high school at the start of the program) who have NOT spent 3 or more months in Israel as part of an educational or peer-program (this includes semester abroad, gap year or any other MASA or Onward Israel program).
Priority is given to students enrolled in Los Angeles universities and colleges (i.e. UCLA, USC, CSUN, SMC, LMU, Occidental).
Previous participation in Taglit-Birthright Israel is encouraged for any eligible applicants
Travel to Israel with other Angelenos to explore your professional interests, build your resume, and experience Israel like a local. Once your internship is over, you’ll come home with valuable new skills and experiences on your resume, and some great new LA friends.
